Wind your way up the forest path to wind down your city stress, rediscovering peace at Zen House—your getaway, artisanal tiny house—with private deck taking in rainforest and water views. Zen House is a true labour of love, custom-designed and handmade features include infinity chandelier and raw brass fixtures. Perfect for a couples getaway, Tiny in name only, Zen House is a spacious 5m tiny house with 5m deck, comprising loft double bed and double sofa bed—so you can sleep 4 if needed. Tucked away next to the magnificent Strickland Forest (home to Australia’s oldest arboretum), Zen House offers optional access to Narara Ecovillage—a mature 165 acre demonstration village with smart grid, cafe, food-co-op, gardens and stunning naturally built homes on display. Located alongside state forest on Ecovillage conservation land, Zen House is 300m away from the nearest residence, a 70m forest walk from your private carpark (trolley and lighting supplied), and 150m past Ecovillage working sheds. The path to the village dam passes below the hill on which Zen House is nestled—so you may see some swimmers on hot days, but at nights the dam and the working sheds are empty—leaving you to a remote, private, forest experience. You have full private access to the tiny house and surrounds. You will find your personal parking spot next to the dam and then a secret path, lit up by fairy lights if you arrive after dark, into the bush.. Its a 70m walk from the carpark to the tiny house up a path through the bush, there is a trolley and a torch to help get you and your stuff in safely. Your hosts are Erin and Hannes. We can be contacted in the app or contact details will be posted in the tiny house. You are in our most private spot, but lots of people live in the Ecovillage. If you are wandering through the many common areas you may have members start a conversation with you, you can let them know you are a Tiny house guest. You will likely get a friendly chat about cool houses, renewable power systems, permaculture, communal living etc. You can choose between complete privacy, adventuring through renowned forest trails, visiting the naturally-fed forest dam...Or get involved experiencing one of Australia’s leading Ecovillages, chatting with the members, taking part in a workshop or working bee... Or your own mix of it all. Get the full hotel experience for a $30 additional fee (we will do your dishes and empty the garbage) , or self-clean for the budget approach. Mobile reception is very low. 0-1 bar on Telstra, a little walk will get enough reception for a phone call, or head to the café where you can join the Narara Ecovillage Guest Wi-Fi. Sorry, not pets allowed!
